I'm back today with some behind-the-scenes pics of us getting ready for an event. If you were here on Friday, then you saw us propping around Manhattan for some last minute items we needed for our party. We picked up some great cupcake wrappers, ribbon, and paper for the event. Tomorrow I'll be back with pictures of the finished product {from the very talented William Brinson}. If you want to see a sneak peek of the table, check out the twitpic that we shared here.
A little bit about the party...The event was a baby shower for a darling soon-to-be first time mom. She wanted a pink and yellow feminine vibe for her shower and she loves peonies and damask patterns. The venue was an elegant restaurant on Manhattan's upper east side. You'll get to hear more about that tomorrow. In the meantime, here are the behind-the-scenes of us getting ready in our office and at the venue.
This was the inspiration board for the event...
Johanna, who works for me, testing out the design in our office.
Staff hand-picking out the pink, yellow, and white candy out of the bulk colored candy a la "Amy Atlas Style"
"Sweet Baby Girl" custom favor bags for the guests to take home candy...
On to the day of the event...we had to pick up an extra table from my home the morning of so the little Atlas boys pitched in for the party {pajamas and all since it was early morning}...
The boxes arrive safely to the venue - phew! This was a smooth transition, it's not always this easy. More on that another date.
Eric, who works for me, getting all of the vessels ready...
Johanna and our intern Rachael placing fondant chips on buttercream cupcakes...
The backdrop is up and the table is starting to take shape...
We cut circles from construction paper so that the cupcakes don't get the vessel liners greasy. Yes, I am that anal!
A visit from Ashley of Dolcio Dille all the way from Atlanta with some custom fabric pom poms.
Me and William Brinson. So excited to share his pictures tomorrow.
Come back tomorrow to see the event. Also, we're announcing the winner of the Event Blossom giveaway! tomorrow. If you haven't entered the contest, do so now!

Been waiting for this post all weekend :) Love the colours and backdrop... I've always wonder what you use as backdrop, is it cardboard? And how do you keep it in place? Thanks for sharing your work...

Wow love to be a fly behind the scenes or perhaps a taste tester. My dear friend Holly told me about you.
Where have I been? Just stunning!

This pink-and-yellow works together so well! I did an egg-yolk yellow cake with a large, multi-hued deep pink hydrangea, and the combo works great both in pastels and deep tones. Love this table, Amy!
Love the behind the scenes pictures...can't wait to see the final details!
Love the behind the scenes...I agree with the other girls, can you please elaborate on how/what you use for your backdrop and how you secure it to the table?
Adore your work!
Jo-Ann
Amy,
Love the backstage pics!
Can I please ask how you get your backdrops up? Are they taped to the walls, board or what?
And do they fit to the width of your tables?
Thanks in advance,
Bird
