I'm back with pictures of our dessert table for a darling mom-to-be's shower. Yesterday, I posted some behind-the-scenes pics of us getting ready for the event. William Brinson stopped by to capture some shots of this lovely party. Want some deets about the event?
It was for a first-time mom, who is having....you guessed it a girl! The party took place at Park Avenue Summer, which is located on Manhattan's Upper East Side. If you live in NYC or are visiting, this should be on your list of go-to restaurants. The name and decor of the restaurant changes with each season. In the summer, the restaurant is filled with gorgeous summery yellow decor, which was perfect for our pink and yellow palette. Their food will also satisfy the most discriminating palate. It can be somewhat pricey so save it for a special occasion if you're on a budget.
Some sweet details about the event...
(1)Since the mom-to-be loved peonies, we found peony-patterned fabric and wrapped the fabric around peony arrangements. Remember when I twitpic'ed this picture? I was shopping for fabric to wrap up the vases. It is a simple and very inexpensive way to instantly dress up your vases.
(2) Since the mom-to-be wanted a feminine vibe for the event, we created a damask pattern. We brought that pattern into a custom backdrop, vessel liners, trail mix wrappers, strawberry mousse shot glass labels, and even the trays that lined the mimosas. We also brought in a striped and cross-hatch pattern to make the table feel a bit more playful since the party was for a baby shower.
(3) The desserts on the table varied from gourmet desserts such as raspberry truffles and parisian macaron to homemade treats like chocolate dipped oreo sticks {fun, right?} and trail mix with pink and yellow m & m's.
(4) Also, a few lessons I learned from this event...
(a)If you triple line your linens, it will make it very hard to steam out those wrinkles, especially of you are working with silk taffeta.
(b) If you are using custom cupcake wrappers {like these that we found on our shopping trip here,} then make sure the frosting of the cupcake is higher than the cupcake wrappers or else your wrappers will be greasy. We couldn't use them for this event, but we'll be sure to use them in the future.
I hope you enjoy the peek into the party! Also, be sure to scroll to the bottom to see the winner of the Event Blossom 100 candy jar giveaway.

Love the colours and arrangement... the ribbon detail of the tags looks great!
You amaze me! Gorgeous!!!! I am planning my daughters first birthday and I want my event to look JUST like yours :)
Absolutely stunning. The whole layout keeps my eyes looking for more goodies to be found.
Oh my WORD Amy! You've done it AGAIN! Absolutely stunning. I adore Pink & Yellow. I love the candy bar wrappers. The venue looks amazing. And I like the cake pops - the shorter sticks look good! And the yellow strawberries - love it!
Amy is simply amazing and creative! Any photograph would have been a good one with Amy's creation, her attention to detail was spot on!
I love this table. I was wondering do you pick winners for your give away at random or based on the comments of how they will use the give away? Do non-industry people ever win?
One of my favourite momments is when I read your posts, you are so creative! Your work is absolutely spectacular, congratulations from Spain!!!
LOVE this! Really love the color combo! Nice job!
This is so gorgeous Amy and the colors are so fresh and trendsetting! I love that you added so much behind-the-scenes info and even acknowledged the problems with steaming the tablecloths. I would love to know more about what fabrics you use(and prefer to use)for your tablecloths.
pure heaven....
Nice to see how it all came together.
this is absolutely gorgeous!

I always seem to have problems finding great table cloths. Also how do you all create the fake wall? Do you use foam core boards and wood frames?
The peony arrangements are beautiful.
Amy...simply lovely!! And what a gorgeous venue, their decorating is stunning...love that wheat grass and wheat! Your table ties in beautifully...or was it the other way round?! :)
Lovely colours and details, as always!
I love the "Sweet Baby Girl" hanging from the tiered stands. We are planning an orange and pink baby girl shower in July and this offers so much inspiration. Great job!
How adorable! I love the colors and it's perfect for summer.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the fabric poms and the cutout letters on the cupcake stand. The very first photo I ever saw of yours was your "happy birthday" letters on the tiered stand...and it has always been my favorite! I'm happy to see it again here for a baby shower! LOVE it all!
Food for thought - the cupcake wraps work really well with cupcakes that are covered with fondant instead of buttercream. You can pipe a small swirl of buttercream in the center of the cupcake and then drape the fondant cutout over the buttercream and to the edges of the cupcake. The buttercream will give the cupcake some height, but the fondant will ensure the wraps will stay grease-free. There's also a great product - www.fondarific.com that sells flavored/colored fondant for those customers who don't like the taste of traditional fondant.
Amy,
Lovely to see it all come together so nicely!!
The attention to detail is simply stunning!
When you say home-made...do you actually do some (or all) the treats in-house (by Amy Atlas and co..)?
Just trying to pick your brain and maybe a recipe?! ;)
Love,
Birds
I absolutely love the fabric pomanders on the side of the chair. Any chance you could post a tutorial on how to make those?
So beautiful, love this color combo!
Felt poms and peonies! I die!
OH MY! All those lovely peonies - this is too pretty!
