Macarons!

I'm slightly obsessed with macarons right now. What am I saying...I am ALWAYS obsessed with macarons. This traditional french pastry is light, fruity, chewy, and one of my favorite confections. I'm working on a tv segment next week and am incorporating a fun diy project with macarons. There are lots of things you can do with macarons. I'll share the behind-the-scenes diy tips on what I will be making as we get closer to the segment airing. In the meantime, I wanted to share with you what is inspiring me today for this fun project.

First, macarons from Laduree in Paris. Can you believe I have not yet had these? Need to plan trip to Paris for these NOW!

A peek inside the Laduree shop and a glimpse of their famous macaron towers.

Macarons in many vibrant colors...true eye candy!

Wendy Kromer, a friend and one of my favorite cake designers, made this macaron cake for Martha Stewart. GORGEOUS!

Want to find out my fave macarons in New York? Come back this week for a sneak peek into one of my fave stores where I get macarons.

I prefer the macarons at Pierre Hermé, they look and taste good. If you are obsessed with macarons welcome to the club! I've made this for a couple of brides who made this as their wedding favors even before the Martha Stewart Wedding article.

They look especially lovely with gold dust too:

Hi Amy,
They are the best Macaroons, while in London had some at Harrods. Also At Lenotre they have delicious ones.
Bonne Chance!

I just went to Paris in November and caught the macaron bug. I posted the "what not to do" results of my first macaron-making attempt on my blog, and now I'm eager to crack the macaron code. I'll be checking in for tips!

Hi Amy! I love macarons and have been slightly obsessed also. I have used Martha Stewarts recipe and have loved the results. It did take me 8 tries to get the little foot to look just right! Very rewarding once you understand just how to make them....looking forward to your next post on them. Terri

Ladurée's packaging is so beautiful you simply have to find another use for an empty box. And you know a box of delicious, pretty macarons won't stay full for long! :)

So pretty! I'm hungry just by looking at them. Terri, thanks for sharing that Martha has a recipe in her site :)
